Summary | A course for beginners with no previous knowledge of German, designed to give absolute beginners a basic, working knowledge of spoken and written German. The course is not suitable for students with previous knowledge of German.
All students take all elements of assessment, including the examination.
This course is a semester long and runs both in semester 1 and semester 2.
On successful completion of the course students will have the option of taking Foundation German Language 2 (ELCG07008, 20 credits), which follows on from Foundation German Language 1. |

Learning Outcomes
Students will develop basic reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. They will acquire knowledge of basic grammatical structures and a vocabulary of approximately 500 high-frequency words and phrases.

Auditing this course is not allowed. You must be enrolled as CE (Class and Assessment including centrally arranged exam).
