Course description |
Turkish 1a aims to teach the structure of the Turkish language through Istanbul A1 course book. During the first semester the syllabus design will be as follows: the alphabet, vowel harmony, days of the week, plural nouns, months, seasons, numbers, colours, telling time, adjectives- comparative and superlative forms of adjectives, progressive tense, past tense, noun-case suffixes, basic vocabulary, pronouns and simple dialogue, greetings and translating from Turkish to English.
Auditing/Class Only is not permitted for any languages courses.

Other requirements | PLEASE NOTE: This course is designed for complete beginners with no previous knowledge of Turkish of any kind. Students considering taking Turkish 1a as an elective course who have knowledge of Turkish at or beyond CEFR A2 level, or students who are native speakers of Turkish, should not enrol in this course, as this would be considered academic misconduct. In such cases the students will be asked to leave the course. |
