| Summary | This course focuses on the challenges of designing an interior intervention into an existing building over multiple floors. |
| Course description |
Using an existing medium-size multi-storey space, students will be asked to analyse, and redesign this space for a new function. They will be expected to establish a brief in order to respond to the potential clients needs.
Students will prepare scheme design proposals in sketch and exploratory model form for discussion. During this iterative process they will prepare final proposals in drawing form, to scale, for submission.

Formative feedback and Assessment:
Group tutorials will include verbal and/or written and drawn feedback from peers and staff on a weekly basis.
Mid-semester, students will submit a self-evaluation form, and be given written formative feedback on their formative submission and work to date.
Summative Feedback and Assessment:
At the end of the course students will submit a final edited portfolio of work and a self-evaluation form, and be given written feedback and grades on their work submitted. |

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Investigate and demonstrate the use of an appropriate range of practical, material and theoretical research methods in relation to the building and its existing and proposed use.
- Develop and evaluate core interior architectural design theories and applications in relation to the new use of the building, and its relationship with the existing building.
- Present knowledge, skills and understanding of the design solution in a graphically coherent way.
