Course description To provide a firm grounding in Spanish language, both written and oral, with a view to preparing potential Honours students for living and either studying or working in a Spanish-speaking country during their third year. Prohibited Combinations Students MUST NOT also be taking Spanish 1B (ELCH08002)
Other requirements A pass in at least one modern or classical language at Higher Grade (SCE) or a Grade B in National 5 or GCSE or evidence of linguistic proficiency.

Other students whose qualifications in Spanish are more than 3 years old may also take the Proficiency Test to determine whether Spanish 1A or 1B would be more appropriate.

The test will be available online on Learn and students are required to complete it by Friday 13th September.
