Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Describe the process of obtaining funding for academic research from the research councils
- Search, identify and critically evaluate the relevant literature to gain a thorough and current knowledge of a biochemistry-related topic
- Build on current biochemical knowledge to suggest new directions for investigation of a biochemical problem
- Design the appropriate experiments to tackle the biochemical problem, identify the resources required to execute the project and prepare a relevant, coherent and acceptable grant application
