Summary | Headache disorders are the most prevalent of the neurological conditions and among the most frequent of medical complaints seen in general practice. This course provides the student with the opportunity to examine and evaluate the issues related to these conditions, and the application of appropriate principles, diagnosis and management of headache in clinical practice. The various forms and methods of treatment employed in the management of headache disorders are also explored. |

The course is each assessed by participation in critical online discussion and multiple choice questioning. Independent critical exploration of clinically relevant patient case studies will also be assessed for the purpose of enhancing or further developing the student¿s abilities in the management of headache disorders.
Key principles that will underpin assessment activities are evidence-based practice and the application of theory to clinical practice. The principle of constructive alignment will underpin all assessments. This will ensure the assessment tasks are aligned with the specific course objectives, the content of the course and the teaching methods employed.
