Summary | The course will offer healthcare professionals an opportunity to explore cognitive theories and the use of critical thinking to analyse complex clinical presentations. The rapid processing, the articulation of needed action and the evaluation of prescribed interventions are also an integral part of learning, which is offered by experienced and senior clinical experts.
By using on-line simulated scenarios, as well as accessing additional data sources, students will be challenged to assimilate knowledge and refine skills that support person centred care. These include interpretation of clinical signs and symptoms, accurate reporting of assessment procedures and documentation of care outcomes that support continuity of care.
The course will also explore the attributes that relate to the practitioner developing their skills and acting as a clinical żrole modelż. This function is critical to services that set to offer safe and effective provision of care, by all staff, including senior and junior professionals, support staff and students.
Course Aims:
1. To provide a safe and conducive environment which enables students to acquire and hone new skills and knowledge, relating to advanced clinical practice
2. To enhance and build on core practice values and skills including clinical assessment, diagnostic skills and decision making.
3. To introduce students to learning opportunities that reflect innovative practice where data and information are captured without seeing the patient face to face (Telehealth).
