This course will focus on the creative potential of mark making with textiles and stitch. Experimenting with traditional and contemporary techniques, students will develop a creative language using machine and hand stitch on fabrics, paper, and plastic. Students will produce a range of samples before working on a personal project reflecting their own interests. |

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, through attending classes and engaging in directed and independent study, students should be able to:
RESEARCH
develop a personal language through research, building a sketchbook or visual journal which demonstrates an understanding and contextual awareness of the creative potential of textiles and stitch.
PRACTICE
realise the creative potential of textiles and stitch through samples and experimentation, evolving an ambitious personal creative outcome.
PRESENT
select, edit and present a coherent a range of samples and finished works which demonstrate a creative an informed use of stitch and textiles techniques
