Working directly from nude and draped models set up against a range of environments, this course will introduce you to painting methods and techniques to explore ways to examine colour, tone, composition and create mood. While some emphasis will be placed on the proportion and form of the figure itself, you will also be encouraged to consider ways to be expressive in the application of paint to reveal a personal approach to the subject. |

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, through attending classes and engaging in directed and independent study, students should be able to:
- plan and design engaging studies and paintings working directly from the nude and draped model
- demonstrate the use of a range of painting techniques to create a distinctive and personal response to the figure.
- reflect upon and articulate an understanding of working from the nude and draped figure.
