Summary | British History 1 provides a wide-ranging introduction to the political history of Britain from 1603-1990. Particular emphasis is placed on relations between England, Scotland and Ireland, and the development of British national identity. The course provides a basic grounding in modern British history for those intending to take Honours History courses. But it is also designed as a self-contained survey course for those who wish to study British history as an outside subject or as part of a MA general degree. |
