Summary | A course for beginners with no previous knowledge of Spanish, designed to give absolute beginners a basic, working knowledge of spoken and written Spanish. The course is not suitable for students with previous knowledge of Spanish.
All students take all elements of assessment including the examination.
This course runs both in semester 1 and semester 2.
On successful completion of the course students will have the option of taking Foundation Spanish Language 2 in Semester 1(20 credits) or in Semester 2 (20 credits), which follow on from Foundation Spanish Language 1. |
Course description |
Foundation Spanish Language 1 is intended for complete beginners and aims to equip students with a basic grounding in written and spoken Spanish. At the end of this course, students should reach approximately level A1/1+ on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Students who pass the course will be eligible to continue studying Spanish in Foundation Spanish Language 2 (ELCH07010).

DELC students may only take this course if it over and above their full credit load, as a non credit bearing course. Visiting Students may only take this course for credits.
