Students work on self-selected and generated projects, which offer the opportunity to undertake a wide-ranging and in-depth practical and theoretical investigation into their chosen discipline, and they have the opportunity to undertake a short investigation and appraisal of your practice in relation to its contemporary contexts.
Aims of course
1 To develop individual practice and professional, technical and creative skills within an appropriately identified theoretical context.
2 To promote a professional approach to manage, structure and resolve an innovative contribution to their discipline.
3 To provide you with the skills to research, propose, manage and undertake an analysis of the values underpinning your practice, anticipated audience/consumer and validating contexts.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- RESEARCH & EXPLORE: Provide a critical framework for the demonstration of independent initiative and self-critical application of original ideas through the identification, definition and testing of methodologies.
- ANALYSE & DEVELOP: Demonstrate a fully integrated, critical and contextualised relationship between creative practice and research, showing a clear knowledge of relevant theoretical, material and technical debates and of how your practice is situated within a broader cultural and theoretical context
- SYNTHESISE & COMMUNICATE: Generate, evaluate and consolidate original research within the production of realised projects, demonstrating a professional ability to manage, structure, resolve and communicate your increasingly sophisticated ideas verbally, visually and in writing.
