| Summary | Aims:
To promote understanding of the theory and practice of routine restorative dentistry and how this influences management with implants.
Objectives:
At the end of this module students should be able to:
. demonstrate an understanding of restorative devices available within the system(s) encountered on the course
. make an appropriate restorative treatment plan and execute this to the satisfaction of patients and staff
. communicate effectively with patients and technical staff
. appropriately incorporate dental implants into the whole care/treatment of patients
. demonstrate an understanding of occlusion and biomechanics in relation to implant restorations
. demonstrate knowledge of complications and their management
. demonstrate basic clinical skills in the assessment and management of restorative patients
. demonstrate basic knowledge in the management of the edentulous patient, partially edentulous patient, trauma to the teeth, periodontal disease and tooth surface loss
. ability to rationalise treatment plans with evidence and deliver treatment in their own clinical practice
