Summary | This course comprises the major research component of the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, enabling trainee clinical psychologists to design, develop and undertake a significant original research project.
The thesis project is based upon original research relevant to clinical psychology practice and normally comprises a systematic review, a detailed methodology chapter and a journal article, and may contain additional chapters.
Please note that due to the nature of the course, which essentially takes part over 3 years for full time trainees (or 4-5 years for those with a specialist training route), the course credits are spread across the years of training. 20 credits are nominally allocated to year 1, 20 credits are nominally allocated to year 2 (or equivalent for specialist trainees). The total 140 credits are awarded in the final year. |
