Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course students should:
Understand the principles of operative surgical techniques, basic surgical concepts and wound management
Understand the principles of diagnostic imaging and interpretation of radiographic and sonographic images.
Understand the general features of the distribution, actions and elimination of drugs in domestic animals
Understand the significant properties of the main classes of medicinal product used in veterinary medicine
Demonstrate and understand safe use of simple anaesthetic hardware.
Be able to discuss case management of simple and advanced cases.
Be able to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of anaesthetic techniques and drugs.
Recognise the risks associated with drugs and equipment used in veterinary anaesthetic practise.
