Summary | This course is concerned with understanding how companies in the research-based industries (for example software, biotechnology, chemicals, electronics and advanced services) go about product innovation. It is a business-oriented course, continually referencing practical examples and includes a speaker from a hi-tech start-up.
There is a lot of skill development on the course including the use of online learning (Wikis, blogs and an e-portfolio) and detailed tuition on preparing an essay and project report.

? innovation process in the R&D-based industries, including frequent references to raising and using venture capital
? practical problems surrounding the management of innovation, such as issues in the management of R&D, design, technology transfer and technological collaboration
