SummaryThe course will cover all the major areas associated with gross and cellular neuroanatomy and will be taught by a selection of on-line lectures and virtual dissection.
Course description The course will be based around five main topics:
- Gross anatomy of the central and peripheral nervous systems (including blood supply and meninges)
- Sensory pathways
- Motor pathways
- Cranial nerves
- Spinal cord, spinal nerves and autonomic nervous system

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Gain an appreciation of the gross and cellular anatomy of the nervous system.
  2. Identify and trace functional pathways at different levels throughout the nervous system.
  3. Relate structure to function in the context of neurodegenerative disease.
  4. Critically read and present data from scientific papers.
