Summary | Students must gain a pass of 50% or more in Chinese Language II and an average of 50% or more in the lecture courses in order to proceed to the dissertation. The MCS is awarded on the basis of the mark gained for the dissertation. The dissertation will be 15,000 words in length (excluding bibliography). Candidates who fail to achieve the MCS standard in their marked coursework will not be allowed to proceed further with the writing of the dissertation. MCS candidates failing to achieve an adequate standard in the dissertation may be awarded the diploma. |

Students will have a good knowledge of modern Chinese history, society and culture, and advanced knowledge in modern politics, economics, business or management;
