Course description | Molecular cloning technology is widely exploited in pharmacology and neuroscience, indeed much of our basic understanding of the macromolecules that mediate cell communication in the brain derives from molecular biological experimentation. The aim of this course is to illustrate these concepts through in depth examination of a number of different fields in which molecular biology and molecular genetics have been brought to bear. The course will consist of introductory lectures covering different aspects of molecular biology and "journal clubes" in which students are given a paper or selection of papers to present and these form the basis of a discussion. |
