The Head of Linguistics and English Language will convene a small group every year, at the start of the year, to convert the marks received while abroad at a University in the appropriate country to the Edinburgh marking scheme; unless there are compelling reasons to the contrary, the conversion will normally be done using the conversion factors as used in DELC.
In exceptional circumstances, as outlined above, an essay of 10,000 words may substitute for the 30 ECTS credits (= 60 Edinburgh credits) in courses. This will be marked by members of staff in LEL using the standard Edinburgh marking scheme. Contact and Further InformationThe Course Secretary should be the first point of contact for all enquiries.
