This course develops knowledge and understanding of (i) the international legal system; (ii) the main institutions which contribute to the development and application of international law; (iii) the legal rules, principles and processes which govern key areas of inter-state activity; (iv) the interface between international law and international relations

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

To develop student skills of (i) case and treaty analysis;
(ii) legal reasoning; (iii) criticism; (iv) oral and written communication; and (v) legal research.

Assessment Information

One Essay of 4 pages worth 20%; December Exam worth 80%

Should a resit be required this will be an exam, and the essay mark will be carried forward. The same weighting will apply.
