Advanced Planning and Control Project 4 (U00435)

? Credit Points : 10  ? SCQF Level : 11  ? Acronym : EEL-4-CVAPP

This course is project based. The project is based on the taught course "Planning and control of projects". The project brief is issued in a formal class. A briefing lecture is given, during which students are introduced to the nature of the class of problem for which solutions are required, and are given appropriate starting references. Students are required to study individually using the internet, the library and any other available source information to accomplish the specified task, as well as the software provided - specifically Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project. The project focuses on the study and evaluation of alternative optimisation strategies for a real civil engineering construction project. One strategy will be adopted and the optimal plan is to be presented in a formal report.
