1. To continue to make students aware of and informed about the diversity of English as a world language at social, regional and national levels.
2. To develop a broader and more advanced knowledge of English Language in its historical perspective, both overseas and within the British Isles.

Coursework and degree exam. Students obtaining an average of 60% or above in classwork may be exempted from the degree examination.
