Italian Language Level 1 B (IT0003)

A course for beginners with no previous knowledge of the language, designed to introduce the Italian Language to non specialist students.

Entry Requirements

? Pre-requisites : No previous knowledge of Italian is required.

? Co-requisites : Numbers are limited and Directors of Studies must contact the Teaching Office of the Division of European Languages and Cultures (59 George Square - Telephone: 50 4026) before enrolling students.

? Prohibited combinations : IT0002

? Special Arrangements for Entry : Priority to enrol will be given as follows:
1. Students from College of Science and Engineering, College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, and visiting students.
2. Students from College of Humanities and Social Sciences, but from outside School of LLC (Literatures, Languages and Cultures.
3. Students from School of LLC, but outside DELC

No students on programmes owned by DELC will be admitted to these courses.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

A course designed to give beginners a grasp of the language at an elementary level. Students will progressively develop basic reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. By the end of the course they will have acquired the language basic grammatical structures and a vocabulary of 500/600 words.
