A course designed to give beginners a working knowledge of spoken and written Italian.

NB: The numbers admitted to this course are limited therefore Directors of Studies should contact the Division of European Languages and Cultures' Teaching Office (650 4026)to confirm availability before registering students for this course.

Entry Requirements

? Pre-requisites : No previous knowledge of Italian is required.

? Prohibited combinations : IT0003

? Special Arrangements for Entry : Priority to enrol will be given as follows:
1. Students from College of Science and Engineering, College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, and visiting students.
2. Students from College of Humanities and Social Sciences, but from outwith School of LLC (Literatures, Languages and Cultures.
3. Students from School of LLC, but outwith DELC

No students on programmes owned by DELC will be admitted to these courses.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

To give students a grasp of the language at an elementary level. At the end of the course students who performed successfully will have developed basic reading, writing, listening and speaking skills and acquired a vocabulary of 500/600 words.
