A course for beginners with no previous knowledge of German, designed to introduce the German Language to students in the College of Science and Engineering. The numbers admitted to this course are limited, therefore Directors of Studies should contact the Department of European Languages and Cultures' Teaching Office to confirm availability before registering students for this course. The course is not open to students who have a pass in either German 1A or 1B and is not normally available to students taking degrees in the College of Humanities and Social Science. The course is not suitable for students with previous knowledge of German. The examination will consist of a two-hour written paper.
