Italian Language Level 2 A (IT0004)

First semester. This course offers more advanced instruction in written and spoken Italian, and is intended for students who have successfully completed Italian Language Level 1 or have reached an equivalent standard (Standard Grade/GCSE). The numbers admitted to this course are limited therefore Directors of Studies should contact the Division of European Languages and Cultures' Teaching Office to confirm availability before registering students for this course.

Entry Requirements

? Pre-requisites : Successful completion of level 1 or Standard Grade (SCE) or equivalent

? Co-requisites : This is not a graduating course for the MA General or for the MA with Honours in the Groups listed in Regulation 4.1 (i)

? Prohibited combinations : IT0005

? Special Arrangements for Entry : Numbers are limited and Directors of Studies must contact the Teaching Office of the Division of European Languages and Cultures (59 George Square) before enrolling students. (Telephone : 50 4026).

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

To give students a grasp of the language at an intermediate level.

Assessment Information

Short language exercises. Class work 60% (3 written assessments); degree exam 40% (exemption possible for an average classwork mark of 60% and over).
