Phonetics and Laboratory Phonology is only recommended for students with previous experience of phonology and acoustic phonetics.
Students on the Phonetics Pathway may take Introduction to Phonology and Phonetics concurrently with Phonetics and Laboratory Phonology

MSc Ling Syntax Semantics
Select between 10 and 20 credits

Notes:
If you have not previously taken a course on Syntax, Introduction to Syntax is compulsory. Introduction to Semantics and Pragmatics is strongly recommended for those with no / little previous experience of this area. You should discuss this with the Programme Director in your semester 1 meeting.

Level 11 courses in the School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences
Note: Please select remaining credits from Level 11 courses in PPLS. Courses for Speech and Language Processing are not normally available to students on the MSc Linguistics programme. In special cases, access to some of these courses may be granted. This is not guaranteed and will only be possible with approval from the Programme Director.
