These are your optional or "outside" courses from subject areas across the University. You will need to select these courses to be enroled on them.

Note that you can only select Level 7 and 8 courses from Schedules A to Q, S, T, W and Y. You can only take 40 credits at level 7 courses across Years 1 and 2. Some courses have pre-requisites that you will need to meet to take the course.

You may, alternatively, take one or two courses in British Sign Language (LLLO07003/LLLO07004) from Schedule X, subject to availability. The overall maximum of 40 credits at level 7 still applies in this case.

You cannot take a course if you already took it in Year 1.

These are your 'free choice' credits.

You need to select 2 courses from any of the following LEL categories: Foundation, Skills, Linguistics, or English Language (the LEL Honours handbook provides full details on which courses belong to which category).

You cannot select a course as a 'free choice' if you are already taking it within your Group A choices.
