| Summary | This course is designed to enable students to prepare thoroughly for researching, writing and submitting a dissertation in Social Work. Students will receive guidance on identifying a suitable area for research, constructing a research proposal and preparing work-in-progress literature review and methodology. |  
| Course description | This course begins in Year 3 and is completed in year 4 with the submission of students' dissertations.  As such it is a non-assessed preparation course that introduces students to the dissertation e.g. its scope, the learning outcomes, how to search literature etc. There are two tasks in year 3 and these are the crafting of a topic and proposal (Semester 2) and a work-in-progress literature review and methodology. The literature review will be written over the summer between year 3 and year 4 and submitted on the day of return to studies in their final year. |
