| Pre-requisites | Visiting students should have at least 3 courses in a suitable subject area at grade B or above (or be predicted to obtain this). We will only consider University/College level courses. Students will also have to contact the course organiser to check level of Arabic language ability before being admitted to the course.

Learning Outcomes 
| On completion of this course, the student will be able to: 
        explain key concepts and terms in various fields of Islamic learning (e.g. hadith, Qur'anic exegesis, Islamic law, theology, Sufism);read and understand central texts in different fields of Islamic learning in their original language and translate them into English;explain the significance of selected texts for the development of the respective fields of Islamic thought and place them in their historical context;evaluate and critically assess secondary literature on the above topics. |
