| Summary | This elective course can be accessed at any time during the BVM&S curriculum to explore the benefits and logistics of sitting the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination.  The NAVLE is required for any veterinary surgeon seeking to work in North America. |

 This course aims to centralise information and student support for NAVLE exam preparation. Low level engagement will introduce the benefits of taking the NAVLE to students and help elucidate career progression opportunities.

 With regular engagement in this course, students will be able to access resource lists, pre-recorded topical lectures and organised tutorials. This, combined with the formal curriculum as taught, will prepare students to take the NAVLE examination without need to pay for external proprietary study programmes.

| Additional Information (Assessment) | As a 0 credit course, there will be no linked assessments. One external assessment will be funded by the R(D)SVS for each student applying to take the NAVLE exam. This external assessment will act as a practice examination providing students with immediate feedback on strengths and weaknesses as well as providing a fairly accurate predicted score. |  
| Feedback | Once completing the external NAVLE examination, students can opt to share their score reports with the university. This breakdown of performance allows for an audit of the curriculum as taught compared to additional resource material supplemented through the NAVLE prep site. Students are feedback on previous years¿ performance in order to formulate a bespoke engagement and revision strategy. |

| On completion of this course, the student will be able to: 
        Identify diseases and scenarios specific to veterinary medicine in North America.Compare and contrast differences a practising vet must be aware of in North America versus the UKUse and analyse given data to be able to calculate sensitivity, specificity, business productivity and costs and evaluate normal vs abnormal ranges. |
