| Summary | A course aimed at developing generic research, analytical and presentation skills.
Students develop and explore a topic of their own choice within a given theme. Topics chosen for SRC Foundation should not directly relate to material taught elsewhere in the BVM&S programme.

During the SRCf course you should develop your skills in:
- developing a research topic
- the acquisition and organisation of knowledge around a research question
- Critical analysis and evaluation of information and its source
- the presentation of knowledge in a structured and coherent format that is both appropriate and interesting to the target audience
- communication between team members
- team management and time management

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Using SRCf course themes and extending beyond the bounds of the taught BVM&S curriculum, create a research question suitable for collaborative group work
- Evaluate different sources of information in relation to the research question, and revise and adapt the research question accordingly
- Arrange and present research findings professionally in three formats aimed at different audiences
- Identify and appraise source references, cite in an academic format and incorporate appropriately into presented material
- Communicate and manage workload effectively as a team, asking for additional support if needed
