| On completion of this course, the student will be able to: 
        master the devanagari script in which Sanskrit is written, acquire a familiarity with the basic structures of the Sanskrit language, and build up a basic Sanskrit vocabulary.identify, describe and translate a range of linguistic forms in an epic Sanskrit text.develop skills in acquiring knowledge of a complex language which they will be able to transfer to study of other languages.communicate an understanding of the linguistic and textual culture of ancient India.develop skills based on their independent work and interact with class colleagues in communal study of the Sanskrit language. |
