Professional Practice: Law and Contracts, Contracts & specification, contract responsibilities, the tendering process, conduct of work, conditions of contract, professional fees, project administration & specification writing. Planning: statutory basis, development control, development plans, planning decisions, national planning policy, environmental assessment. Project Management/office/job running skills in preparation for the year in practice.   
 
Aims of course 
1 To give students an understanding of the professional code of practice, forms of contract & specification writing, aspects of UK planning legislation & relevant aspects of law and project management/office/job running skills in preparation for the year in practice.
