| Course description | This course is intended to give students a grounding in railway infrastructure engineering. 
 Students will learn the basics of permanent way design for plain line and S&C, alignment design, along with related infrastructure such as earthworks, drainage, structures and gauging.
 
 The course will provide a good introduction for anyone considering a career in railway civil engineering.
