This introduction to printmaking enables students to experiment with colour, texture and composition through a range of relief and intaglio techniques such as woodcut and collagraphy. Students will be encouraged to generate and develop visual ideas suitable for print through their own visual research, drawings in a sketchbook as well as looking at a range of artists and illustrators who have used printmaking as a means of expression. |

Learning Outcomes 
    By the end of the course, through attending classes and engaging in directed and independent study, students should be able to:  
 
RESEARCH  
Develop and research visual ideas and compositions suitable to translate into artists¿ prints  
 
PRACTICE 
Use print methods of stencil, reduction and multiple blocks to create layers of colour and textures and use soft and hard ground etching techniques, editioning and good registration techniques; 
 
PRESENT 
Create a series of personal and original unique prints which have considered the uses of drawing, composition and colour.
