| Course description | Students are introduced to a systematic approach to electronic/electrical system design and innovation. The key elements of the approach are:

1. design from external specifications;
2. problem definition;
3. physical understanding;
4. solution generation with value judgement;
5. "realisation" of potential solutions - students are encouraged to develop their own solutions.

The aims of this course are:

1. to introduce students to the use of a suitable numerical modeling software application for system design;
2. to introduce students to designing from professional specifications;
3. to introduce students to working with minimal supervision. |
