| Course description | Indicative course content 
The Major Design Project (MDP) is the most important piece of work undertaken in the MLA programme.  It consists of 2 modules: MDP research and MDP portfolio.  The MDP research embodies the theoretical, the data collection and the analysis and the MDP portfolio applies this understanding to a realistic, self-initiated, design project.  
 
Aims of course 
1 to encourage independent thinking  
2 to provide a vehicle through which students can synthesize and focus their knowledge and  understanding of Landscape Architecture
