| Course description | This course is designed to allow students to apply the concepts in the Rock Physics course in a practical context.  It introduces students to a recent industry development, and builds on significant research expertise in Edinburgh.  It is intended to have a component of workstation based learning, which will improve students' appreciation of current industry software capabilities. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes 
1.	Principles of Amplitude-versus-offset (AVO) analysis: Information content, AVO inversion, traditional crossplot analysis, attributes and Fluid-Factor analysis. 
2.	Rock Physics templates and Seismic litho-facies. 
3.	Probabilistic Inversion and Statistical Rock Physics. 
4.	Thin bed effects and frequency-dependent AVO. 
5.	Practical exercise applying the concepts to industrial data.
