| Course description | Got an idea for writing a novel? Well, here's your chance! This course will help you embark on such an adventure with advice in character development, plot structure and synopsis. In a workshop setting with individual feedback provided, you will learn crucial aspects in the art of creating fiction. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
¿ Dispel any apprehensions about writing a piece of long fiction;
¿ Write a plot synopsis and a biography of a main character intended for a novel;
¿ Give constructive feedback of colleagues¿ work within a workshop environment;
¿ Discover good ideas and a relevant theme for a novel.

Assessment Information
| Open Studies 10 credit courses have one assessment. Normally, the assessment is a 2000 word essay, worth 100% of the total mark, submitted by week 12. To pass, students must achieve a minimum of 40%. There are a small number of exceptions to this model which are identified in the Studying for Credit Guide. |
