| Course description | There are six main components to this course: A consultation exercise (knowing the views of the customer is an essential start to the development of a product); the preparation of a complete product design specification; the preparation of CAD based working drawings and presentation techniques; Manufacturing processes; How to evaluate the educational worth of a resource; Developing an action research plan. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes 
By the end of the course students will be able to: 
 
i.	identify the key requirements of 5-14 Environmental Studies (Technology) 
 
ii.	carry out an audit of 5-14 Technology in a secondary school 
 
iii.	define the terms continuity, progression, coherence and differentiation and apply them as relevant in (iv) below 
 
iv. Design and produce (in conjunction with secondary teachers) a learning/teaching unit suitable for S1/2 pupils which encompasses the key requirements of 5-14 
 
v. Use the resources and materials produced to implement (iv) above and evaluate their effectiveness | 
 
 
Assessment Information 
1 Analytical Report Audit of exiting practice in school experience placement 3 against CfE principles and practice and experience and outcomes or 3rd and 4th level. 20%  
 
3. Curriculum Development teaching and learning unit of work  (implemented in placement 4 (sem2) Design and development of related teaching and learning resources to support the learning, assessment 65%  
 
3. Evaluate the programme, materials and the process of curriculum development as an activity to support improvements in learning and pupil engagement 15%
