| Course description | This course uill provide useful information and advice to new students to help them settle into their new environment, to minimise the non-academic disruptions and to enhance their quality of life in Edinburgh. The course will also help new students to understand the learning styles in Edinburgh in order to maximise their learning outcomes and prepare them to be more employable after graduating. 
Students will be given information and advice on how to develop effective techniques for writing essays/other assignments, contribute effectively to group work and undertake other types of activity at University level.
