| Course description | An introduction to creative compositional practice including: form, rhythm, harmony, instrumentation and cultural context.  The student's own creative work will be developed in individual tutorials.  Students are encouraged to make a rigorous exploration of the horizons of their musical experience and interest. |

Two original and contrasting compositions, to be submitted by end of Semester 2 (80%).
