| Course description | This elective course will study the cellular response to virus infection and how the virus overcomes and modifies these responses to cause disease. Topics covered will include: 
 
¿	Cellular mechanisms for detecting virus infection 
¿	Apoptosis initiation and inhibition in virus infected cells 
¿	Modification of cellular responses by Influenza and Herpes viruses 
¿	Cellular transformation and tumour induction by viruses 
¿	Antivirals |
