| Course description | Indicative course content 
Students will have the opportunity to explore a specially selected area of contemporary art practice, choosing either from an area of practice that relates closely to the material covered in the module, or following a more personally determined course of independent and self-directed study on an approved topic, with emphasis on enquiry that complements the student's own studio practice  
 
Aims of course 
1 To enable students to analyse and interpret with fluency, confidence and skill 
2 To challenge students to engage with a high degree of competence in the interrogation and elucidation of a specially chosen area of contemporary art practice   
3 To encourage students to achieve high standards of verbal, written and visual presentation of their ideas, using means appropriate at this level
