Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes 
Upon successful completion of this course, students will  
&· have explored a number of key texts in the Qur&©"àn and have obtained an overview of its developing themes from Meccan to Medinan periods;  
&· be familiar with a range of types of Qur&©"ànic texts, their various styles and themes; 
&· have learnt about the place of the Qur&©"àn in Muslim life and will have studied the different approaches to the interpretation of the Qur&©"àn of a range of Muslim and western scholars;  
&· have explored some of the issues in the interface between Islam and other faiths, especially Christianity.

25% - Essay 2 (2,000 words);
