To understand the relevance of the occlusion in the dentate patient to the outcome of restorative procedures. 
To understand the principles underpinning the restoration of the root treated tooth. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes 
Participants should be able: 
To understand the importance and principles of occlusal analysis and to be able to apply them 
To be able to select appropriate occlusal instrumentation to facilitate patient care 
To know the principles and purpose of diagnostic waxing 
To be able to construct and fit a well-fitting occlusal splint 
To be able to select appropriate techniques and materials for making inter-occlusal records 
To be able to make appropriate adjustments of restorations to promote occlusal stability 
To assess the root treated tooth and select an appropriate restorative technique | 
 
 
Assessment Information 
To provide records of: 
Four patients for whom mounted study casts were made and mounted in an articulator using a facebow and a retruded axis position record and a brief critical reflection on the care delivered for each patient. (200 words for each)(50%) 
Two patients for whom a post-retained crown(s) was provided and a brief critical reflectinon the care delivered for each patient (200 words for each) |
