 Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The primary objectives of the course are:
	        - to give an overview of the coastal and estuarine environments; - to revise key material on the behaviour of real fluids; - to discuss the theoretical representation of fluid turbulence; - to develop a basic understanding of tides; - to present and review oscillatory wave theory; - to examine the effects of waves and currents on structures; - to introduce basic concepts of ship dynamics; and - to relate wave and tide theory to the design of coastal works and the management of the coastal environment.
