Final Assessment
1 Unit of Assessment is allocated to every 20-credits of courses. Language Paper 1 counts as a 40-credit course. Language Paper 2 and the oral each count as 20-credit courses.
* a pass in at least one modern foreign or classical language on the Higher Grade (SCE) or evidence of linguistic proficiency.
** No previous knowledge of Portuguese is necessary: a pass in a modern foreign language or a classical language at SCE Higher grade or equivalent evidence of linguistic proficiency is normally required.
† Spanish Higher Grade (SCE) or equivalent. Entrants with SCE qualifications should hold at least a "B" pass
‡ Entry into Honours normally requires (i) passes in all six subjects taken in the first two years, and (ii) a mark of 55% or above in the second year of the relevant Modern European Language.
